Job Introduction

Serco is a partner of choice to the European Institutions and other International Organisations. For the past 30 years, we have been providing European and International Organisations a wide range of services including ICT services in support, infrastructure, operations and development as well as managing different contact centres for the key European Institutions, agencies and organisations, in Brussels and across Europe.
We are hiring Configuration/Deployment Manager for European Commission DG Informatics (DIGIT TM) in Brussels and various locations around Europe. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Software configuration management. 
  • Build and continuous integration.
  • Establishment maintenance procedures related to deployment of information systems.
  • Management of development infrastructure (e.g. application servers).
  • Help/guide development team in the transition of the applications to the cloud
  • Manage automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Release management, tickets follow-up and controls.
  • Analysis of information systems performances.
  • Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers 
Skills
  • Bachelor's level or 3 years of higher education 
  • Excellent knowledge of software deployment management.
  • Excellent knowledge of software release management.
  • Excellent knowledge of building and deployment tools (e.g. Maven).
  • Very good knowledge of ticketing system (e.g. Jira)
  • Very good knowledge of CI/CD automation tools (e.g. Bamboo, GitLab). 
  • Very good knowledge of cloud deployment (AWS).
  • Knowledge of application servers (e.g. Tomcat).
  • Knowledge of RDBMS. Ability to apply high quality standards
  • Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents 
  • Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills 
  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
  • Excellent Team Player
  • High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in EMPL.A.4 contain personal and confidential data 
  • At least 3 years of expertise in CI/CD
    • At least 2 years of expertise in Release Management
